Hundreds of hectares of newly cleared land for palm oil cultivation in Riau, Indonesia. Data from the Indonesian Palm Oil Board said crude palm oil (CPO) nationwide in July 2016 could reach 2.9 million tons, up about 200 thousand tons compared to June 2016. Indonesia is the largest palm oil producer in the world. Thousands of hectares of tropical forests converted into oil palm plantations.
