Suryono is a smallholder farmer from the Desa Makmur Peduli program and a champion of integrated farming. He has spoken on the topic on Indonesian TV and events, such as the Indonesian Economic Solutions Forum, and international summits, including COP 22 Marrakesh. In 2017, he was recognized with two prestigious Indonesian awards: Icon Award 72 for his conservation achievements and one from the Siak Government for his innovative work in converting his land from oil palms to produce (chilli) production.
