Minister of Climate Change and Natural Disaster Management, Meteorology, Environment and Energy, Vanuatu

Hon. Ham Lini Vanuaroroa is the Minister of Planning and Climate Change and Natural Disaster Management, Meteorology, Environment and Energy for the Government of Vanuatu. Prior to this, he was the Leader of Opposition. He is a seasoned politician and has been a parliamentarian elect for over 15 years. Hon. Vanuaroroa previously served as the Prime Minister of Vanuatu, and has also looked after many portfolios including as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Trade, Commerce, Tourism and Industry, Minister of Infrastructure and Public Utilities, Minister of Internal Affairs,  and Minister of Justice and Social Welfare.

He was involved in the establishment of the Ministry of Climate Change in 2013 and is a strong advocate for action on climate change, including reducing emissions through deforestation and forest degradation. Under his leadership and guidance, the first payment of carbon credit for carbon sinks through forest conservation will be issued this month.
