Ms Isabelita Austria believes in the potential of communities as managers of sustainable forests, given an enabling environment and the appropriate rights, capacities and incentives. A practitioner of community-based forest management (CBFM) and sustainable forest management (SFM) criteria and indicators systems and has served as the Philippines ASEAN Social Forestry Network Focal Point. Her areas of expertise include community-based forest management, strategic planning, project management, monitoring and evaluation, networking, enterprise development and facilitation of local-level market information and sustainable forest management criteria and indicators systems. She graduated from the College of Forestry and Natural Resources at the University of the Philippines in Los Baňos.
