Jack Hurd
Conservation Director, Asia-Pacific Region, The Nature Conservancy
Mr Jack Hurd is the Conservation Director of The Nature Conservancy’s Asia-Pacific Region. In this capacity he oversees regional conservation strategy, revenue generation and marketing and communications while maintaining responsibility for a suite of regional personnel and management functions.
Prior to assuming this position Jack directed the TNC Regional Forest Program in Asia-Pacific where he led the organization’s regional forests and sustainable land use efforts. Previously he was the Director of TNC’s Forest Trade Program, which addressed the US dimensions of global timber trade and the Conservation Program Director with TNC’s Washington Chapter, overseeing forests, freshwater, grasslands and marine work across the state.
Before joining TNC Jack worked in a number of capacities with the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF); Pact, a global international development organization and with Thailand’s Population and Community Development Association (PDA). Jack holds a Masters in Public Administration (MPA) from the University of Washington and a Bachelors of Arts (BA) in Economics from the University of Vermont
