Tint Lwin Thaung

Executive Director, RECOFTC

Dr Tint Lwin Thaung is the Executive Director of the Center for People and Forests, known as RECOFTC (Regional Community Forestry Training Center for Asia and the Pacific). Previously, he was Asia-Pacific Forest Conservation Coordinator at The Nature Conservancy. In this position, he worked as an advisor to TNC’s Responsible Asia Forestry and Trade project, providing technical advice to many partners in promoting their institutional capacities in responsible forest management and trade. He has extensive networks with various stakeholders, especially with local communities. He is dedicated to promoting community forestry as a tool to address many challenges faced by local people in the region.
