The Collaborative Partnership on Sustainable Wildlife Management (CPW) has announced a one-day Wildlife Forum in Durban, South Africa.
Taking place on 9 September alongside the World Forestry Congress, the Wildlife Forum will address threats currently facing wildlife resources, seeking solutions to conserve native fauna and their habitat, while also improving the livelihoods of local communities.
The organizers hope to foster a conversation between sectors by drawing together experiences from countries, organizations, indigenous peoples, local communities and the private sector.
The inaugural Wildlife Forum will focus on three topics:
- wildlife, food security and livelihoods
- human-wildlife conflit
- illegal/unsustainable hunting (bushmeat)
Everyone registered for the World Forestry Congress, from all sectors, is welcome to join the Wildlife Forum—just indicate your interest when registering here.
