Early career forestry researchers, like their peers in other fields, are facing a dichotomy. The broader and faster access to vast amount of knowledge and data has enriched their research quality. However, the relatively slow growth of research funding has made research grant application ever more competitive, especially for the young forestry researchers.
APFNet would like to join existing international organizations in providing opportunities to support young forestry researchers in the Asia-Pacific region through setting up an Early Career Academics Program (ECAP).
The session will allow APFNet to introduce ECAP as support to young forestry researchers, and international organizations to share similar experience, and listen to forestry research professionals about their needs to better shape the program.
