Since its inception, the International Union of Forest Research Organizations (IUFRO) has promoted international cooperation in research, embracing all topics related to forests and trees.
The IUFRO 125th Anniversary Congress 2017 will present a wide range of technical sessions as well as a series of science in dialogue sessions, which will bring together scientists, policymakers and other stakeholders from around the world and will enable the exchange of scientific knowledge on forest-related topics.
Various scientists and staff from the Center for International Forestry Research (CIFOR) will take part in IUFRO 2017, sharing research and findings on forests and trees that can support the development of technical options and inform management systems and governance solutions.
The CGIAR Research Program on Forests, Trees and Agroforestry (FTA), which is led by CIFOR in partnership with Bioversity International, CATIE, CIRAD, ICRAF, INBAR and TBI, will also present a joint IUFRO-FTA subplenary session.
