Community-based Fire Prevention and Peatland Restoration on international and national conferences exhibition

5th International Conference of Indonesia Forestry Researchers (INAFOR) 2019

International Conference of Indonesia Forestry Researchers was an annual event hosted by the Research and Development Agency of Ministry of Environment and Forestry. The 5th INAFOR entitled “Enforcing Forest Restoration and Environmental Quality Enhancement for Sustainable Livelihood and Socio-Economic Benefits” was hosted from 27-29 August 2019 at Bogor City, West Java Province. Main objective of the conference was to introduce and disseminate product and innovative technology produced by the Ministry of Environment and Forestry, international organizations, CSOs, and private sector to wider audience through five series of international conferences as well as the exhibition. CIFOR participated in this conference by highlighting PAR CBFPR works that extremely aligned with INAFOR’s 2019 themes. At least 88 participants, were recorded, have visited CIFOR booth during this conference.

National Policy Dialogue
CIFOR hosted a national policy dialogue titled “Toward Sustainable Palm Oil: Global Trade, European Parliament Resolution and Forest Conservation” that was supported by CGIAR Research Program on Forests, Trees and Agroforestry (FTA). The objectives of the policy dialogue were: (a) to share policy perspectives from the governments, private sector, civil societies and international communities including the EU on current developments within the palm oil sector; (b) to identify ways forward to reconcile palm oil development and forest conservation; and (c) to communicate CIFOR-led research results on oil palm, landscapes and sustainability.The policy dialogue was held on Thursday, 26 September 2019 at Hotel J.S. Luwansa, South Jakarta. During this event, CIFOR displayed its research including PAR CBFPR.
