Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Finland is responsible for preparing and implementing the Finnish Government’s foreign policy, as well as overseeing Finland’s development policy and development cooperation. Finland is one of CIFOR’s top funding partners, supporting research since 1997. The Ministry has supported CIFOR’s work for research on climate change mitigation and adaptation, studies on the illegal timber trade and through the Junior Professional Officers (JPOs) program.
