World Bank


The World Bank, established in 1944, is an international financial institution and provides both loans and grants as well as technical assistance to developing countries in the field of education, health, public administration, infrastructure, financial and private sector development, agriculture, and environmental and natural resource management. Since 1999, the World Bank has been a coordinating partner of the Global Landscapes Forum, and has supported CIFOR’s work in climate change, forest management and governance, livelihoods and poverty impact assessments, among others.
