Erin Sills is associate professor of forest economics at North Carolina State University, USA, and a senior associate of CIFOR. At CIFOR, she collaborates with the Global Comparative Study of REDD+, and is a resource person for the Poverty Environment Network (PEN). Her research focuses on the economics of multiple use forest management, including quantifying the value of non-timber benefits from forests, modelling the behaviour of households who own or use forests, and evaluating the causal impacts of forest policies on forests and livelihoods. She has conducted field research in Brazil, Costa Rica and Indonesia, and collaborated with graduate students on research throughout the tropics, including in West and Central Africa. Erin received a PhD in natural resource economics from Duke University and a BA in public policy from Princeton University, USA.
