He joined CIFOR in January 2003 for one-year\'s secondment from CIRAD-Forêt in France to collaborate with CIFOR on research in to traditional knowledge and local perceptions of the environment. He will be attached to the Environmental Services and Sustainable Use of Forests Programme. Manuel received his Ph.D. from University of Science, Montpellier, France.
