Christopher Martius is Team Leader of Climate Change, Energy and Low-Carbon Development (CCE) at the Center for International Forestry Research (CIFOR), Bogor, Indonesia since 2013. He has a PhD in Biology from Germany and is also Lecturer (professor) in Agroecology at the University of Bonn. He is supervising CIFOR’s Global Comparative Study on REDD+, and he coordinates the ‘Flagship Program’ on Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation in the CGIAR-wide research program on Forests, Trees and Agroforestry (FTA). Chris has published 160 articles on climate change, tropical ecology, soil ecology, hydrology and agriculture in scientific journals, and co-edited 7 scientific books.
