Since joining WWF Indonesia over eleven years ago, after anthropological research and coordination of a large action research project, “Culture and Conservation” in the interior of Indonesian Borneo, Cristina Eghenter has focused on strengthening and mainstreaming social and development issues in conservation at local, national, regional and global levels, by focusing on equity, good governance of natural assets, recognition of Indigenous Peoples rights and strengthening of traditional and local institutions, shared governance of protected areas, sustainable livelihoods and rural well being linked to Green Economies and post-2015 agenda.
