The Peatland Restoration Agency (BRG) was established with a mission to accelerate the restoration of peatland hydrology and vegetation degraded as a result of forest and land fires. Various measures already carried out include social interventions in critical peatland regions, and in communities who depend on peatlands for their livelihoods.
Forest News held a short interview with Dr. Alue Dohong, Deputy of the BRG’s Construction, Operations and Maintenance Division, on the effects of BRG’s actions on the ground, including impacts, constraints and outcomes of BRG research.
