The race for space: Human-wildlife conflict in Indonesia’s national parks

Deforestation and human encroachment are putting huge pressure on Indonesia’s national parks. On the island of Java, CIFOR researcher, Age Kridalaksana is working in Gunung Halimun-Salak national park to monitor the biodiversity in order to better understand how to reduce human-wildlife conflict. His research offers new hope for the island’s most elusive species, the endangered Javan leopard.
