West Sumatra is endowed by fascinating of landscapes where forests and agriculture live side by side in harmony. Rice fields and forests, stand side by side, is a typical scenery. Rice fields usually occupy flat land, although some rice fields can be found on slopes as well, and adat forests occupy the hilly areas.
