A baseline vulnerability assessment has been conducted in the Tri-National de la Sangha (TNS) landscape in East Cameroon, under the COBAM project. The baseline assessment comprises two parts. First, it involves the analysis of current vulnerability and adaptive capacity of the project sites in order to establish the basis for the development of future scenarios to explore future vulnerability and identify potential climate adaptation options. Various dimensions of vulnerability were identified and investigated using trend analysis, vulnerability matrices, social network mapping, flow analysis and a variety of interviews, among other methods. Second, the baseline assessment includes the analysis of local governance of Community Forests in order to evaluate the potentials for REDD+ pilot projects.
