Agriculture Sector Leader, SNV Indonesia

Dr Rizki Pandu Permana is Sector Leader for Agriculture at SNV Indonesia. In this role he manages program development and quality of practice at the country level for the sectors of agriculture and climate change. His professional background includes managing research and projects at ICRAF, Utrecht University, CO2 Operate, IFC-World Bank and The Borneo Initiative in the fields of sustainable forestry, agroforestry, agriculture, community livelihood, rural development, and climate change.

SNV has developed some agricultural projects across commodities, including palm oil, rubber, coffee, cassava, rattan, coconut, as well as forestry and climate change related projects in many regions in Indonesia. SNV works from a deforestation-free supply chains approach, and engages with a wide range of stakeholders to develop climate-smart landscape strategies, by building smallholder capacity to increase yields in existing plantations, and to implement traceability and forest monitoring systems together with the private sector. Through this integrated approach, SNV develops sustainable, pro-poor solutions which strengthen smallholder livelihoods, bring core business benefits to private sector partners, and maintain and restore forest areas.
