A draft of the sourcebook was launched at the World Forestry Congress in Durban in September 2015. The final sourcebook was launched at the FAO in October 2016, and CIFOR also held PEN-based events at IUCN’s World Conservation Congress to discuss the new methods and promote the new tool. The module is now posted by FAO for public consultation.
