HE Wan Junaidi bin Tuanku Jaafar

Minister of Natural Resources and the Environment, Malaysia

Dato Sri Dr Haji Wan Junaidi Bin Tuanku Jaafar has been a Member of the Malaysian Parliament since 1990. As a Member of Parliament, he represented Malaysia at many conferences, seminars and dialogues with ministers and officials of various levels around the world. He has represented Malaysia at the United Nations General Assembly in New York and delivered speeches in several UN Committees. Between 1990 and 2012 he made numerous diplomatic and official overseas visits to help promote Malaysia as a robust democratic and Islamic nation, international trading nation and with moderate government.

The Minister is a lawyer by profession and served as a Police Officer for the Royal Malaysian Police for 13 years. He was appointed the Deputy Minister of Home Affairs immediately after the General Election in 2013. After two years as a Deputy Minister of Homes Affairs, he was promoted to the position of Minister for Natural Resources and the Environment Malaysia in July 2015.
