What is the Asia-Pacific Rainforest Summit Photo Competition?

The Asia-Pacific Rainforest Summit (APRS) is organized by the Indonesian Government with the support of the Australian Government, and in partnership with the Center for International Forestry Research (CIFOR) and the CGIAR Research Program on Forests, Trees and Agroforestry (FTA).

The Photo Competition is your chance to express to leaders in the region and beyond why our rainforests matter. All qualified entries will be displayed online in the lead-up to the event, while the top 20 will be shown in Yogyakarta during APRS.

A cash prize of $1000 will be awarded to the Jury’s Choice winner, while the Jury’s Choice runner-up and Audience’s Choice winner taking home $500 each.

What kind of photos are you looking for?

We are looking for photographs that highlight the value of rainforests in the Asia-Pacific region.
These can include photos of rainforests and forest landscapes, the communities who live in and around forests, forest products for trade, health or nutrition, diverse plants and animals that highlight the region’s rich biodiversity, or anything else that expresses why our rainforests matter.
