Global Landscapes Forum and CIFOR’s Global Comparative Study on REDD+ team up for webinar during the 2018 APRS
A Global Comparative Study on REDD+ Media Training, which will include a Global Landscape Forum Digital Summit in Yogyakarta on 21 April 2018. Join journalists in Yogyakarta on 21 April 2018 for scientist Cynthia Maharani’s presentations, “Current status: assessment of subnational REDD+ initiative on the ground” and “Current status: REDD+ performance assessment. Experiences from Indonesia, Vietnam, Myanmar and Laos.” During the digital summit, participants will also be able to ask questions and join the discussion.

Media Workshop: Reporting from 3rd Asia-Pacific Rainforest Summit
Drawing on their expertise and experiences, scientists from the Center for International Forestry Research (CIFOR) and the Indonesian Ministry of Environment and Forestry (MoEF) will conduct a two-day training for members of the media on 21-22 April 2018 in preparation for the 2018 Asia-Pacific Rainforest Summit (APRS). The training, which include journalists from Indonesia and the region, aims to enhance the journalists’ coverage of the 2018 APRS, but also presents updated information and progress reports on a wide variety of topics, including forests and climate change, REDD+, restoration, bioenergy and peatlands.

Youth Session: Intergenerational discussion to take the lead to inspire action
This session will be led by the International Forestry Students’ Association (IFSA) Indonesia, in cooperation with the Center for International Forestry Research (CIFOR) and the Ministry of Environment and Forestry Indonesia, and will engage and integrate young-led initiatives throughout the Asia-Pacific region into global efforts to take lead to inspire action towards forestry and environmental issues.
