Hilman Nugroho is the Director General for Sustainable Management of Production Forests at the Ministry of Environment and Forestry, Indonesia. Previously, he held a number of government positions, including Director General of Watershed and Protected Forest Management; Head of the Planning Bureau, Secretariat General of Ministry of Forestry; and Director of Guidance and Development of Natural Forests at the Ministry of Forestry. In addition to his government career, Nugroho has been part of a number of international meetings and talks, including as Head of the Indonesian Delegation on the High-Level Segment of the Thirteenth Session of the Conference of Parties to the UN Convention to Combat Desertification in China; and as Team Lead of Rehabilitation and Reclamation of Forest and Land Meeting at the University of Queensland. He earned his Doctorate of Education Management from the State University of Jakarta, Indonesia, and his Masters and Bachelors degrees from Gadjah Mada University, Indonesia.
