Agus Sari is CEO of Landscape Indonesia (PT Bentang Alam Indonesia), a company that bridges sustainable landscape management and finance. Concurrently, he is a Senior Associate at the World Agroforestry Center (the International Center for Research on Agro-Forestry, ICRAF), a Senior Associate at the Institute for Sustainable Earth and Resources (ISER) of the University of Indonesia, and teaches a class on sustainability at the School of Business and Management at the Bandung Institute of Technology. He also enjoys mentoring young entrepreneurs through Endeavor Indonesia. Most recently, he was CEO of Belantara Foundation. Previously, he was a Deputy Minister/Deputy Chair of the Indonesian REDD+ Management Agency in charge of planning and finance, after his tenure in the Presidential Task Force on REDD+ as Chair of the Working Group on Financial Instruments. He co-chaired the UNFCCC Working Group on REDD+ Finance that evolved into the Contact Group on REDD+ Finance at the 2013 COP19 in Warsaw, Poland, which successfully negotiated the decision on REDD+ Finance in the Paris Agreement. He also served as Indonesian Country Director and Southeast Asia Regional Policy Director of Ecosecurities, then the world’s largest carbon asset management company. Until 2007, he was a Lead Author of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) which led to the Nobel Peace Prize to the IPCC. He obtained an advanced degree from the Energy and Resources Group, University of California, Berkeley, US. He is an avid diver and a photographer.
