Grahame has a Master of Natural Resources from University of New England, Australia and a Bachelor of Science (Forestry) from the Australian National University, Australia.  He has forestry and natural resource management and research experience, working for over 35 years in tropical forest management, community forestry and climate change in the Asia-Pacific region. More recently in Indonesia, he has been involved in cost effective monitoring methodologies to monitor peat loss and emissions and developing incentive based.

The Tropical Forests and People Research Centre brings together researchers interested in the interactions between people and tropical forests.  The Centre is based around multidisciplinary projects and a desire of the Centre’s social and biophysical scientists to work collaboratively to address complex problems involving small holder and community forestry associated with reforestation and forest management in the tropics.
